1. What's everyone like for poppers?
I like Cretors because they are built like tanks and last for many years with minimal maintenance.

2. We did a test run, my wife that is, and tried 3 different brands of popcorn and we were really shocked to find a big difference in "old maids" and fully popped kernels! I don't have the names of the nrands here but has anyone else ever done this? Does how you store your corn have anything to do with it?

3. Was thinking of going over the Canola oil in my popcorn. Then someone whose antenea brings in more stations than mine told me that Canola oil is much better for you when it is unheated. But, as soon as it gets cooked, it's just as fatty and bad as tpoipical oils. Anyone else hear this?

6. We were using tubs when we started: they are easy to fill and hold. But the pickup made us nuts as they do not crush or compact well and now we are all bags all the time. And tubs cost more. Is there something in defense of tubs I missed? What do you use?

7. We'll be buying a new small popper later when
our renovation is done. Wondering: who votes
for Cretor's and who for Gold Medal? Pros
and cons.

8. We're putting in a small "storefront" art/classics theatre with about 100 seats
or a little less.
What size popcorn kettle is adequate?
8 oz or 12 oz?
We'll do a lot of family and kid stuff.

9. I have coffeee often in a Food Co-Op that is the largest in the State of Maine...... it's kind of a cross between a gourmet and natural foods with wines, etc. kind of place. If you like tofu or fine champagne it is your kind of place!
This moring I renoticed that they sell a good sized twist tied plastic bag full of popcorn with herbs and spices on it and it was for 7.99! I would say it was 2 or 3 times as large as our large bag. It made me think: geez maybe we should do a bit of this..... "Take home a bag!" We have the corn, the public, and the staff! Do any of you sell corn like this?

11. I'm hoping the answer to this is painfully obvious, but I haven't figured it out. About once a month I'm tearing apart the drains under my pop machine and sink the remove this rather unsavory gel that builds up in there. It appears to be something to do with the pop and it plugs the drains up tight -- usually minutes before starting to sell for a sold-out show. I thought it might be something mixing with sink drainage, but the gel starts in the pop machine drain right under where the pop head drain pipe hovers over the catch pipe. Oh, and it is vile and gross gel, too. Proabaly a market for it on eBay . . . . Anyway, any hints would be great. Thanks.

12. Some use butter, some us a variety of oil toppings. We use Topsit! at the moment. What are your thoughts? I'd particularly welcome real Butter devotees discussing longevity of the butter, spoilage, cost, suppliers, etc. I used to feel much worse about the hot toppings until I really read the ingedients and saw that it was basically flavors and oil. I don't use the suff but it doesn't read any worse than a Big Mac, FF, and a Coke. Not to mention whatever Swedish Fish or M&M's are made of. What do you use?
