TOPIC: new 2 screen 200 seat theater

new 2 screen 200 seat theater 12 Mar 2010 01:48 #33537

Hi

I am Chair of a film festival about to embark on its own theater project. We would like 2 screens, 200 seats each. Does anyone have a per seat cost per screen to do this. Forget about building acquisition as we have a 9000 sq ft older building, just the remodel costs as I'd like to know the ballpark number. Also is there a standard auditorium size size needed?

Hi Jim,

How is life?

Do you have just the building shell? No equipment at all? How high are the ceilings?

I don't know how much help this will be but I planned an 80 seat cinema in a strip mall in our area (southern Oregon) and the cost came in at $110,000 to remodel the building, equipment, seats and operating capital.

I am also interested in owning a theater of about 100-200 siters, 1 (one) screen in a particular location in Nigeria, Africa. There is an edge though in this part of the world..... The state of my business interest does not have any cinema at all. Infact there are not up to 10 Theatres in the whole of the country of over 150 million populations. And there is a promising demand.
So i have a plan to start with at least a theatre in each state over time. But i need to know the cost of setting up one for a start. I need answers ASAP.

Thanks.
