Gold Class Cinemas is a name for cinemas that have a lounge and cafe and the patrons can take food and alcohol into the cinema and watch the movie.
The name is associated with Birch, Carroll and Coyle and the Greater Union Chain in Australia. And more recently they are calling themselves event cinemas.
If say they have a 9 complex they could describe it as being made up of 7 normal cinemas and 2 Gold Class Cinemas.
I am unaware of them expanding in the states. But have heard that they are in Germany and Europe and I think Malaysia. They have I think also teamed up with Warner Brothers and Village Cinemas in the past as well.
