Hi there, I'm new to this forum although I have been lurking for a while.
My questions concern customer receipts. How often do you provide the customer with a receipt for concession purchases? Always? Only upon request? Do you have a receipt printer for every pos or are any of your systems set up to share a printer.
Thanks! Lola

Welcome!
We only give receipts when a customer requests one (Except for credit card transactions, then the customer always gets one.) We have 2 receipt printers shared over 4 concession stations. (2 on each printer). Works well for us.

How come you only provide receipts to customers who ask for them? Isnt it better to provide them anyways? Then that saves customers moaning about refunds etc

We don't provide receipts to everyone for several reasons.
#1 Most people don't want them for their food purchases.( I know I don't want my McDonalds receipts ever)
#2 It takes additional time to print receipts and hand them out, in our business, time is money when you're busy.
#3 Additional equipment would cost money, along with additional supplies (paper).

Our (RTS) system can go either way. Ours has printers at each pos station. They normally print credit card receipts and customer pickup tickets (for kitchen food orders).

We can print a receipt for a transaction up to the point where we start the next one, and we'll do so at the customer's request. I don't think we get more than 4 or 5 during the whole season.

In my non-automated single screens, if a customer wants a receipt, I ask them to pick it up on their way out. I fill out a tablet-type receipt after things slow down and give it to them when they leave.
