I am wondering what do most theatres have all carpet in the lobby and concession or tile?

Carpet with a little tile just in front of concession stand.

You can see example here http://www.lincolntheatre-belleville.com/theatre_pictures.htm

In my new theatre- vct-type tile that simulates slate and wood planks throughout entrance and lobby. Concession floor will be quarry tile. I'm only using carpet in the promenade and auditorium cross aisles.

"dsschoenborn" what a beautiful theater, it is just what I was envisioning. You have three screens I am just dealing with two.
Thanks for the info also It will be a great help! Any other pictures of the interior of the theater would be great!

I am Richard's son in law. So yes many of my comments posted here are things he has taught me.

I need to update the site with more pictures. Maybe soon...... If you go to the home page there is a rotating picture of the outside of the building. One of it now one of it from 1920's and one of the main auditorium with the organ ( Richard is at the organ) We have since move the organ to the pit and installed a lift for it. Much more impressive.

My current theater has polished concrete floors. We have to watch it when it snows and everybody comes in with wet feet. But it makes cleaning a breeze.

We also have to tell the children with the roller shoes to walk, don't roll.

We are planning on tearing the carpet in our theater out and replacing it either with non-slip vct tile or Dura-Coat (a non-slip when wet paint, found at http://www.protectyoursurface.com/main.html). We plan on doing the lobby and the aisles in the auditorium. Our main reason for painting or tiling instead of re-carpeting is for ease of cleaning.
