What are some of the companies that supply the cool designs of theatre carpet? In the project I am working on, I just have a fairly small lobby area that I would like to bring into the 20th century. Websites would be great if you know any.Did I mention I am cheap???
Thanks

Are you cozy with any commecial carpet installers? I did my four-plex with remnants that ran me about 25% of what new carpet would have been. You might spend awhile getting together enough to do the job--or, in my case, since I involved my wife, getting enough carpet of the same style.

You'll find several to choose from on this page at CarpetCapitol.com. Be sure to use the "next" link at the bottom to see the second page. There are three color variations of the "Showtime" pattern.

are you guys kidding me?
There is one best source for the coolest carpet in the freaking world and that is www.durkan.com
Now: they do the great majority of the worlds cruise shipos, casinos, hotels, restaurants and everywhere else you see cool carpet. They will make you a custom design: any design/any color. They will let you customize the colors of their thousands of designs/any color in 1000 shades. And they will sell you stock stuff. If you are in the movie biz you should have their stuff under your feet. And it is high quality, made in the USA, cleans easy, tough as nails by the way.

BUT wait there's more: did I hear cheap? Do I mean freaking cheap?! They make a lot of stuff and they always have over runs and errors. Call them / find your local rep and get them to send you their cd with their thousands of styles/ let your rep know what designs you are looking for/ they will tell you how much yardage and the styles they have as over runs/errors/etc. They will send you samples. It will be cheap. Under 10.00 a yard for world class carpet. New is 28.00 +/- last time I checked. You must buy the entire piece. They will not cut it. Tell them what you want: they will help you.

New theatres, larger jobs? Check out Durkan! Always! It is the stuff of dreams and made our theatres the stand out they are today!

Personally, my favourite is Masland Contract.

On the web: http://www.maslandcontract.com/

Don't know about price, but they offer a good warranty, and any style you could think... from crazy, to crazy conservative, to elegant. Its all there.

"Would you like fries with that?"

Our cheap carpet worn out and looked like heck but the good stuff from Durkan was still in great shape compared to the cheap stuff.

We just replaced almot 20 year old Durkan carpet with more of the same pattern. Maybe not cheap but it lasts. With cheap you will be replacing it many times before the good stuff and unless you do it yourself is it really any cheaper in the long run.
