As a current theater owner, we are seeking to build a small entertainment complex in our town in New England. I am looking for a design/build firm to take on the project from soup to nuts. Five screens, one with table-style seating, cafe, party rooms and possibly some bowling alley lanes. Does anyone know of firms that are experienced in this for small operators? Thanks.

Try Theatre Service Network, Buck Kolkmeyer(815)786-6577. They offer construction, consulting, booking, equipment sales (new & used), box office buddy cards, as well as operate 16 theatres. They have a bowling alley in conjunction with a theatre at one location in AL, they also own/operate? a stand alone bowling center.

Stay away from Buck Kolkmeyer. His "stealth" seating design is a joke. There is long posting thread about it on Film-Tech.

Theatre Service does a lot more than the "Stealth" theatre design, for instance Steve Felprin of TSN books our 4 theatres and does a fantastic job. I can't say if the stealth design is good or bad, I don't have the technical expertise, what I can tell you is the locations that they have it in all do extrememly good business, personally I think it is more of a marketing thing to differentiate themselves from other multi-plexes.

Did the Branson 11 use to be a Cineplex Odeon, or did they just buy their booth equipment from Cplex?

"Would you like fries with that?"

Andrew,
They have a warehouse of used equipment, the Branson 11 was originally a grocery store that was turned into a theatre, they opened in early 2000.
