I talked to my Service guy today, he said the weaver kettle corn he said burns easy and requires a lower temp not to keep from burning so much, but to make the corn pop slower so it won't clog up the popper, if it pops too fast he said it can glob togeather and jam up in the kettle...
and he said Adjusting the kettles is a big no no... he said they are basically for setting up the kettle when new, if you mess with one that has been in use and well "cooked" you can be sure it will fail SOON!
He recomends the Gold Medal Glaze Pop, he has several places that use the Unflavored glaze pop as kettle corn, and works quite well, no reduction in kettle temp is needed.
he also said do NOT use the Gold medal portion pak kettle corn mix, he said it comes out a brown color that people do not consider to look like kettle corn.
I am going to try the caramel corn Glaze pop also, it is a light flavor, but as was just mentioned, you could simply add a bit more per batch.
