As much as I hate asking, does anyone have healthy snack alternatives at their concession stands? What are they? Do they sell?

We tried sugar-free candies a while back, and they didn't sell well at all.
Fruit snacks seem to sell well with the kids.

I have several types of nutes in vending machines that do fine to fill spots in a vending machine. No labor and I sell before they go out of date.

We have tried various items over the years, but more often than not they expire before theyre all sold..We have given up..even though a few people do ask for sugar free..we don't sell enough to make it worthwhile..and wowsers theyre expensive compared to ordinary candy.

Nope, and based on others experiences I wont try them anytime soon. One thing we do get more requests for lately is non-carbonated and diet drink options. We sell bottled water, lemonade and ice tea. The only diet drink we sell is diet coke. I am considering giving up my orange soda line for a punch selection. Is there another diet soda selection that anyone has luck with? I would give up ice tea for that, it does not sell well either.

National Amusements (Showcase Cinemas, Multiplex Cinemas, Cinema Deluxe, Redstone Theatres, Redstone Drive-ins) offers veggi sticks with salad dressing at their concession stands. I think they come with Carrot, and Celery sticks, and Ranch dressing. I am not sure how well they sell. I do know that when I go to the movies I do not buy veggi sticks I buy popcorn with extra partially hydrogenated soybean oil.

We have a selection of bottled drinks in additional to our pop taps. Included in that is diet 7up. We don't sell much of it.

While not really that healthy we have recently introduced Vitamin Water at two locations and are selling approximately 300 bottles a week at $4.25.

We have Pepsi Max and it outsells Diet pepsi and pepsi light which we have had in the past. We also offer water (our number 2 selling drink!!), flavoured water (lemon and lime, Mandarine..lemon and lime works best, we sell loads of that) we also have orange juice and apple juice. We get the occasional person grump that we don't have diet lemon, but they just choose something else..it wouldn't be worth putting anything in specially.

I guess this depends on the individual's view of what 'healthy' is. I might also question whether a movie theatre is best suited to meet a customer's expectations or influence them.

We've tried sugar-free candy, veggies, milk for the kids, and watching carb & calorie counts in some of the foods we serve. The customers don't seem to want any of it in large amounts.

If you want a real shock, look up the carb/calorie count in a "Cinnapretzel"... pretty much a day's worth in one serving, and wildly popular.
