I use weavers gold, or at least did. Has anyone else noticed that this corn breaks up more easily than it used to and more old maids, leaving small pieces in the warmer? Even after instructing the newer staff about being careful with handling. What brands of seed are you other folks having good luck with?

Many years ago, we also used Weaver's. I don't remember much about it now, other than that it sometimes had a chalky consistency to it, as well as the breakage you mention.

The stuff we use now is bought in bulk as a commodity, then repackaged and branded by our concession wholesaler. For all I know, the grain could be used by anyone... but it's been pretty good over the years.

Blue Ribbon for the last few years. We had to switch a few years back from the brand we had used because of pop popping but have been happy with Blue Ribbon consistancy.

Yes it does break up easy.

Only choice we have rite now, I dunno what it was but we have had a Weaver in White Bags, that wa even worse. popped tiny little kernals so you got next to nothing out of each batch.

The popcorn brand at Sam's Club is Act II (just like the microwave popcorn) and it was just under $11 for a 50LB bag.
