Just one more reason why it's better at the theatre! CNN has released the following information below about MicroWave Popcorn.

The Environmental Protection Agency is studying the chemicals released into the air when a bag of microwave popcorn is popped or opened.

Exposure to vapors from butter flavoring in microwave popcorn has been linked to a rare lung disease contracted by factory workers in Missouri, Illinois, Iowa and Nebraska. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health has said it suspects the chemical diacetyl caused the illnesses.

However, health officials insist people who microwave popcorn and eat it at home are not in danger.

I don't know about you, but I think I'll stick with the good old theatre popcorn.

I'll praise "Cornholio" and other concoctions IF I am given a choice in its administration to my individual popcorn. Too many cinemas I've been to put the flavoring right on the corn and dish it out that way, not giving the patron a choice as to how much, if any, flavoring he wants! Some of those flavorings are so strong and cloying that I don't even like to walk into a theatre reeking of it, much less have to eat a deep yellow (or orange!) version of it on my corn. For these reasons, I've taken to avoiding popcorn and mostly buy candies now.

That's the preflavored salt. Good question on who uses it. I know that we do.
