We are looking for a new candy distributor. We are a small twin in the rural North East and typically order candy about twice a month. Normal UPS delivery. Who have you found to be most competitive price-wise and who doesn't mind dealing with us small guys?
Thanks.

Clark Food Service deals with a lot of theaters possibly nationally. Our local arm is based in Cleveland and sends out trucks to all local theaters every week that we order. We have to meet minimum orders but get all our paper goods, much candy and most of our cleaning supplies from them. I don't know whether they have a branch in your area or not but it is worth a try. They bought out most of the other theater suppliers in this area and they negotiated a deal with our local booker which covers all of the bookers customers at a slight price break.

Check with your nearest grocery wholesaler. You may find they have everything you need and at a cheaper price than buying from a "theatre supplier". I have checked it out and that's what I will be doing with my project. You could then pass that savings on to your customers.

in my video store and my quasi-theater i carry candy from maine movie and candy-a guy named maurice. he is a bit strange but has good prices.

@ 65 cents each-
raisenettes-3.5oz
malt balls-2.75oz
squirms-3.5
choc.peanuts-3.5
gummy bears-3.5
jujy fruits-6oz
twizzlers-i am out so not sure of size

@ 85 cents each-
cookie dough (3 flavors)-3.1oz
choc. almonds-3.5
cotton candy in tub-how much does air weigh?
sour patch and swedish fish-5oz bag

i have found that these are my bigger movers in both locations.

his number is 1.800.422.5595. he travels thru the area usually the 3rd tuesday of each month.

i like the prices because they are very competetive with sam's club (or price club).

will ship if you have an sugar emergency.

good luck!

Check out www.promotioninmotion.com

They carry most of the popular theatre stuff in theatre size packaging. Their website doesn't have much info, but there are phone numbers etc...

It's not a bad idea to check in to your local Sam's or Price Club Type outlet. There you can buy in bulk and in some cases they will even deliver to your theater. It's worth looking into.

Since you are in the Northeast, check out Continental Concession Supply.

Their prices are cheaper than Clark.
