TOPIC: A General Question About Candy Supply

A General Question About Candy Supply 08 Nov 2002 12:44 #26013

We have a local supply outlet in our town and I was wondering if it might be cheaper to buy candy in bulk from them rather then ordering from a vender. Could I get some feed-back on this? Does anyone use the wholesale outlets for thir candy stocks?

we use them all and would always choose a local "vendor" or anyone if it was more convenient or cheaper. We use Sam's and an asst of suppliers.

I buy at Costco and watch for 4/$1 sales at Longs and Rite Aid. Rite Aid recently had a 5/$1 sale going on. They hate to see me coming. Seems their corporate management doesn't trust them to punch in 36 @ .25. They have to scan every darn bar! I clean off their shelves and get a receipt about five feet long. I try to get the big bars on sale also.

Burney - That must bug the @#*& out of the people behind you. I'd love to have a camera and film it.

Sam's Club is good of course and so is Gordon's Foods occasionally. But there is nothing like going to Aldi for licorice and Family Dollar for little Pringles cans. We hope that they haven't figured it out yet. Then there are those stores whose management insists upon sticking a price sticker on each and every package so you have to pull it off before you can resell it at a higher price. We don't mess with them.
