Sour Patch Kids are the best seller, but would the cheaper "sour jacks" do any differently??? Would replacing Raisinetts with the cheaper "sunmaid raisins" affect sales and so on...

GTEntertainment OFFLINE Platinum Boarder Posts: 415 Karma: 0	We carried "off brand" choclate peanuts and wrote them off as waste. we changed to goobers and sold the heck out of them. I think it depends on which candy it is. my be a try and see thing. But I would stay away from choc products

I don't think people like seeing their Red Vines or Reeses Pieces replaced with generic brand. Another example would be Jelly Bellies. I think people become comfortable with certain brand names.

If your contract with the supplier allows, display BOTH brands for a while, and see which sells better, or if you get verbal comments about preferences.

Like Jujubeyes......or whatever the hell that is...who'd ever buy those based on the name?
