I know it was definatly on reel one, but I also think he did it on two also..I think that was the extent of it. I do wish my manager would get rid of this person because he really screws things up. It seems my manager is too nice though. Oh well, its ashame that someone would do stuff like that.

At the Temple we are bringing in Greek for one week. I'll let you know the quality. One bad projectionist can trash a film in a week. He/she does not need to wait a long time to do it. We have received prints that were out for 2 weeks and trashed 67 ways. Be nice to prints!

Try one show.

Bad or Poor film handling will kill a print
so fast. The only person that pays is in
the auditorium.

"Film Done Right" is a matter of good, common sense. Unfortunately, some theatres don't have any.

When you send back a print, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Take pride in your film handling.

I'm opening MBFGW this Friday the 20th. It's a two week deal at 50% each week. I have no problem with that as I'm sure that over the holiday period I'll have no problem getting two weeks out of the picture, and if it does as well as I expect it to, it will probably earn 50% on the 90/10 anyway.

Now, if I can just get a decent print...?

I am bringing it back here on Jan. 9th for four days. I played it very close to its opening and it did terrible. For months now I have been asked, When are you going to get MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING?"

The percentage when I had it before was 40%! It has to be the only movie I have ever played where the percentage has gone up months after release.

My print of MBFGW arrived this afternoon. I put it together this evening, and am delighted to announce that it is a beautiful print. I didn't see any noticeable scratches, nor any splices either. I haven't seen this film yet, and was happy to see that it has an extremely sharp focus and brilliant color. Is that the way all prints have been? Amazing that a film that was made on such a low budget has a finished appearance that is much better then most big budget blockbuster movies.

No WOES any longer!

After having waited over six months for this picture, and having seen almost every patron who came in my theatre who saw the poster remark how much they enjoyed the movie, I was concerned as to whether there would be any business left in it for me.

My worries were unfounded. Near sellout shows (with 557 seats)throughout the weekend put to rest any fears I had about that. By Christmas day this film will become my highest grosser for 2002.
What a wonderful way to end what has been a pretty good year. It looks like this picture will easily carry over and give next year a good start as well.

The only down side is that even while crowds stream through the lobby, and the line goes down the block outside, there are no lines to the refreshment counter. Seldom are there more then five people in each of the two lines at the snackbar. The per capita is running around 75 cents.

Its good to see that your doing well with it Roxy. That sucks about the 75 per cap though...I dont see why though. Your prices arent high at all, unlike some places. Are alot of the patrons senior citizens? That was the majority of the people that came to see it, from what I noticed.

Roxy,

That is odd about your percap as MBFGW is definitely a popcorn picture as we like to call em here at the Rialto. We finally let the film go after 31 weeks about 1,000 showings. Are people arriving late and not expecting it to be busy so they are rushed? We sometimes put a 3 minute delay on show starts on Fri and Sat night in order to help get people through the box, conc and seated.

Happy New Year!
