Online Movie Listings 04 Nov 2007 21:40 #25493

My family has owned a theater in Manistee, MI for 22 years. We leased it out for the last 15 years and have recently taken over the operation of the theater. We have been trying to post our showtimes on Moviefone, Fandango, and Yahoo but we have been having trouble. Any suggestions?
Also, are there any other site we could put our showtimes on?

I, too, just email mine in to both of those email addresses. I have found that if you wait until late Thursday night, they might not get listed. The earlier in the week you send them, the better.

Yes I can confirm what burneyfalls said. The earlier the better. We try to send ours no later than Tuesday evening.

Ditto the above.
We find we sometimes get missed if we're as late as Wednesday afternoon.

I don't know how many places we wind up being listed through these addresses. We were pleasantly surprised to find ourselves on Dish Network.

Is C-S free for theaters to submit listings via email?

"Is C-S free for theaters to submit listings via email?"

Yes. So far we have never been asked for any fees.

We received the following in an e-mail a couple of weeks ago from Cinema Source about some of the services they offer. I haven't contacted them so I don't know about pricing of anything. If anybody is interested, their website is http://www.westworldmedia.com/index.asp.

We appreciate you sending your showtimes in to us each week!

Thought you might be interested in looking at a “menu” of samples/services we offer:

1) csXpress service:

a. We’ll provide you with a username and password for each location to allow you to enter your showtimes directly into our database.

b. Your showtimes will be quickly and accurately displayed on major websites such as Yahoo! Movies, MSN, Google, MovieFone, CitySearch, Hollywood.com, MovieTickets.com, MTV.com, NYTimes.com, USAToday.com and many others.

c. csXpress will also distribute your showtimes to your local newspapers – no more faxing/e-mailing on your own. With one place to enter your showtimes and no more distribution headaches - it
provides you with complete control over the distribution and accuracy.

d. You’ll receive 24-7 access to the csXpress database which powers the showtimes listings industry – so mid-week changes are updated immediately across the Internet.

2) Complete Weekly Showtimes Newsletter program:

Samples: http://www.movienewsletters.net/launchindiv.html

3) Weekly Website Maintenance (showtimes updates, movie poster updates, etc.)

4) Website Creation or Revamp:

Sample: www.marshallcinema.net

Sample: www.bandbtheatres.com

Sample: www.touchstarcinemas.com

Sample: www.transluxmovies.com

Sample: www.northamericancinemas.com

5) Directory Ads (formatted anyway you’d like)

6) Brochures (color or black/white)

Thanks – please let me know if there’s any interest.

VogueManistee,

I can help you get listed with CinemaSource. I just looked at my latest data feed of U.S. theaters, and you're not listed as being open for business.

I just sent you an E-Mail with some details, but just in case that E-Mail doesn't get through, please feel free to contact me.

I'm on the board of a nonprofit org that shows first-run independent and art house films once a month (two showings) at a theater in Fresno, CA.

It's an independent theater that also hosts concerts and other events, not just films. MY QUESTION: since we only have 2 showings per month.... do you think we have any chance of getting listed on Fandango, Moviefone, etc.?

Should I just try and send our dates to those email addresses anyway and see what happens?

Of course, why not. As the old saying goes... It never hurts to ask.
