Hello All,
I'm in the midst of starting up a single screen revue/art house/cult theatre. We will be converting a space that was once used for retail so there is currently no awareness of a screen in the area.

Besides flyers, schedules, websites, are there any other creative methods of advertising that you have found helped to raise awareness for your opening or for events in general?

Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

Running a newspaper ad with your movie listings is a good way to get people to know that you're in town and what you're showing.

You may also want to contact the local newspapers and see if they'll write an article on your new business. That's free publicity and we all use free publicity.

Another idea is to contact the local radio stations and see about doing some sort of promotion with them. You can give them free pass and they'll give out the passes to their radio audience.

I love those little spotlights that rotate.
