In an effort to increase the pool of qualified, career-oriented candidates for Senior Manager positions, our recruitment and training strategies have been enhanced to include an “accelerated†training curriculum, which we have titled the EXCELerated Leadership Development Program. The internal or external candidates selected for this program must meet the following minimum qualifications:
Possess a minimum of 3-5 years of extensive experience leading a retail or hospitality team with a focus on delivering exemplary customer service.
Possess a college degree or commensurate work experience.
Demonstrate appropriate business acumen including but not limited to leadership and financial analysis.
Commit to relocation upon completion of the program. (Placement is determined by aligning candidate preferences with business needs.)
AMC’s management training programs have been developed to ensure that both internal associates and external candidates have training and development opportunities designed to provide equal opportunity for promotion into Senior Manager positions.
Leadership Development Program
To support our company culture, our GuestFirst initiative, and the training and development needs of our managers, the Leadership Development Program (LDP) has been created. The core of the program consists of on-the-job training (OTJ) and instructor-led training (ILT), but an emphasis towards efficiency and effectiveness is evident through centralized electronic training delivery, e-Learning courses, and self-directed learning opportunities.
EXCELerated Leadership Development Program
This initiative is essentially a “Senior Manager in Training†program designed to accelerate the development of select external and internal candidates into future theatre leaders. Participation in this program – whether by existing managers or external hires – is determined by local Recruiters, the SVP/VP/Director of Operations, and Human Resources. The program requires that the individual develop to Senior Manager caliber in six to 18 months. It will only be instituted at a select set of theatres. It is important to note, however, that current full-time managers do not necessarily need to participate in this program in order to be promoted to Senior Manager or General Manager.
