I'm curious how many concession registers or stations everyone has for their theater and how many screens you have. Do you feel the number of concession registers you have for the number of screens you have works out well or do you think it's too many or too few?

5-plex
2-box
3-concessions tills
2-soda towers
1-popcorn popper
2-popcorn warmers, 2-butter pumps

Box and concessions are contiguous so that if we are running with two staff members, one can run to the bathroom or run to pick up an auditorium and the other can cover both for a brief period of time.

Weekdays we run one box and one concession. Weekend we can run with all stations covered and in extreme business double cover the concession tills. Example: A staff member on each till and two others popping corn, filling corn orders and filling sodas. We can serve very fast when motivated.

Thanks for the info Large. I'm curious, do you use regular cash registers for your concessions, or do you use one of those computerized systems (i.e. RTS). How about your ticketing system? Also, do you have the "do it yourself" butter machine or the regular pump style machines? It would seem like employees could service more people if the customers butter their own popcorn rather than if the employees had to do it.

5 Screen

1 box register, run by a very fast manager.

2 concession registers on weekends with a backup person for each, and maybe a fifth person if really busy. During the week, just one concession register is opened.

RTS touch screens with all the bells and whistles.

Server products butter pumps turned towards the staff members. We use real butter so we don't want the customers going nuts.

Indoor:
4 screens
1 boxoffice
2 concession
separate database computer
All RTS w/internet ticketing, credit card & gift card features (super system!!!)

Outdoor:
3 screens
4 boxoffice terminals (RTS "drive-in" mode)
4 concession terminals
1 kitchen order display
All RTS with credit/mag card, fingerprint login readers & other bells & whistles.

Networked terminals in offices & booth so we can keep an eye on what's going on out there!!

The only thing that's self-serve is napkins, condiments & the water fountains.
