TOPIC: UpRoar In Nevada

UpRoar In Nevada 21 Apr 2003 10:29 #23874

Movie exhibitors are in an uproar over a proposal to add a tax to all ticket sales. The proposed levy would charge a three-percent tax on amusement admissions of more than $10.00. Would a three percent tax really drive people away? Is there another reason that I don't see here for the out cry?

Every state with a defecit will be looking at sales tax for movie tiks. This time I won't fight it but will simply raise prices and more!

Then just keep your admission prices BELOW $10. That's too much for a movie ticket anyway. Both ticket and concession prices have climbed out of the reach of many people and it seems that when fewer people buy tickets or concession items the prices go up,
a self-defeating tactic at best.

Sounds like the law was written to exclude movie theatres.

We have a N.A.T.O. chapter for California and Nevada and they are our defence against that sort of thing. Milt will give them hell.
