Tips for installing our silver screen 14 Mar 2010 20:07 #33556

Our new silver screen arrives tomorrow. We've decided to install ourselves to save $$. Any specific tips? Thanks.

Thanks, we got it up, went pretty smoothly. Forgot about the cotton gloves, but we were very careful. Biggest problem was getting to all the springs. Masking and framing was put in to be permanent and had to bust out some drywall in the storage space behind to get to the top corners. I'll post a pic, but it's from my cell so kind of blurry.

Glad it went well!

Question for anyone who might know.

Do you think any studios would have issue with playing 1st run films (or any films for that matter) on a silver screen that is full of sploches marks and such?

Just curious...

thanks!

I would imagine they would only care about what you gross.

New white screens really are quite inexpensive. I bought a new 28' by 12' 2 years ago for less than $1000.

If one wants to do 3d the installer of the lens must certify that the finished installation has no flaws
