Hopefully someone can help me troubleshoot this: In a particular theater, on a scope movie/preview ONLY, (flats are fine), a greyish fuzzy line appears at the very bottom of the frame. The aperture plate seems fine. What could the lens be doing to cause this?! I'll try to post a pic of it.

Sounds like it could be oil on the lens.

Clean both carefully with a clean soft lens cloth especially around the inner rims of the backup and scope attachment.

If that does not correct the problem , try cleaning your aperture plate.

It could be the shadow of the scope aperture plate showing on the bottom of the screen. Try raising the back end of the projector alittle and see if the shadow goes away. Oil would give a focus problem instead.

pull the apperture and see if the problem goes away
if it does then the plate needs filing if the lens is the correct focal length
If it doesn't go away look for something shadowing the porthole or possibly the changeover shutter or fireshutter is not opening all the way

LATE reply to this, but if anyone is wondering...

Fixing the bulb alignment cured the problem. It must have been a shadow from the bulb not being properly aligned.
