Just spotted this on ebay, item number 2930146614, is a fairly complete booth package (no sound equipment though). Here is some of what was listed:

Strong Super Highlight 2 running a 5000 watt bulb (with power supply)

Simplex PR-1060 with two lens turret

Simplex 5 star soundhead with led reverse scan

Component Engineering TA-10 automation (rack mounted) with FM-35 cue detector

Christie MW3 platter with makeup table (good for cramped space booths)

Assorted new projection lenses

Yikes? As in that is a good price or bad price?

If the equipment is in good condition, it's a pretty good price. Compare that with likely spending six figures for a DLP-Cinema digital cinema system, not including sound.

Yes, that's a very good price! Consider the prices of some of the equipment alone:

The console alone sells new for over $10,000

The xenon bulb (5,000 watt) sells for $2,000

The projector head sells new for $9,200

The soundhead (with led reverse scan) sells new for $4,500

The platter with makeup table sells new for around $9,000

Yeh, I'd say it's a bargain!

It sounds too good to be true, really. And you know what happens when it SOUNDS that way.....

I noticed the "sold as is" comment on it. I'd be cautious.

Looks to me like the seller just doesn't know much about 35mm theater equipment and the description is probably from information pieced together from the venue owner.

THIS EQUIPMENT IS STILL FOR SALE.

I got to see it this morning as I was near the place. It is a 35/70 Strong Millenium package with a 5 star soundhead. Manufactured 5/98.

There are 143 hours on the lamphouse. 5,000 watt bulb. Owned by the Sight and Sound Theatre in Stasburg PA. which does live Christian Theatre. Was used to project certain 70 and 35 MM film snipets during the live shows on their 40 X 100 screen. (This means the lamphouse went on and off a lot for a short time.) THEY NOW USE VIDEO PROJECTION.
