I have Kintron Xenon 1000w lamphouses and notice that the mirrors appear to be only about 50% reflective, (I can see thru the mirror) is this typical or are these needing replaced??

I assume you mean that you can see through it with a green or purple tint dependinh on the angle?
That is because they are a dichroic coated reflector that passes heat through them and reflects mostly the visable light not the heat keeping the film cooler

Gordon is correct -- a dichroic "cold mirror" passes some light, but if the coating is undamaged, is quite efficient. The infrared (heat) energy is going out the back of that mirror, while it reflects most of the visible light. A "silver" (nickel) coated mirror is slightly more efficient, but all the heat is reflected toward the film too, and an auxillary heat filter should then be used.
