Did anyone else that recieved Two Towers Thursday have to wait around forever for their print? Our prints usually come early afternoon Thursday, but last night the prints did not arrive untill after 9PM. Then having three prints it would only figure that the majority of the reels were tails out. Oh how much I love these big movies. We are expecting a huge turnout..one or two shows that are presale are sold out tonight, and we are getting close to selling shows out for the weekend.

carlpalko OFFLINE Junior Boarder Posts: 20 Karma: 0	Oh, another thing that I didnt understand....if they codenamed the print "Changing Seasons" why on one side or the cans it was printed "Changing Seasons" and on the other it said "LOTR: Two Towers". But then the heads, tails and dics said "Changing Seasons". A great job on theft prevention there by the studios. [This message has been edited by carlpalko (edited December 18, 2002).]

There's been several threads on http://www.film-tech.com about the inconsistencies of "code names" on prints, and how poor administration makes them ineffective in preventing theft of "hot" titles.

Theatres do need to be diligent to prevent print theft or piracy.

I waited around all day yesterday for my print. I knew the local courier had it at midnight and thought he would drop it off in the morning. Not the case. He carried it around with him all day and dropped it off at 4:30 with a large Charlie's Angels standee, a box of mini posters for LOR, and my weekly DTS trailer disks. Seems like he would have wanted to get rid of all that first thing. I only had one reel (#3) tails up. Did you get yours on brand new reels? I had one of them break on me.

Avco OFFLINE Expert Boarder Posts: 142 Karma: 0	About 3 1/2 weeks ago, I got a print for a press screening called "The Doctor". That title was written on a piece of tape. It covered the lab shipping label. The only problem with that was you could see though the tape and see the real title of the film. Such High Tech equipment from Technicolor. It was "Catch Me If You Can".

The movie starts in digital but after a few mins it drops out and has to be set back to digital manually. Carl

We run a 42" Alpha platter that we are told only holds 2hr and 45 Mins... I'm hoping I can Squeeze it on there cause I just booked LOTR and really would hate to have to break it and do a intermission...

But if you have a platter there is no intermission permitted (at least in Canada)
