Back in March of 2000, Christie became the first company to be named by Texas Instruments to make the jump to Digital. So its been awhile now and I'm wondering if anyone has heard any great things coming out of it. I think its still along way down the road but I'm interested in progress that has been made.

Looking at Christie's press releases, I don't see any large volume sales to theatre circuits as yet:

Post production facilities are setting up digital projection facilities for checking digital masters, and distributors and theatre circuits are "testing the waters" on a few dozen theatre screens.

BTW, I've heard estimates that there are over 100,000 theatre screens worldwide equipped to show 35mm FILM.

Just to stir the pot at one newish DLP install I measure on a 42' screen only 7fl with a 6K overdriven to 180 amps
yet the 35 had 15.5 and was using a 5K lamp
