I just set up a used Christie platter I bought a couple months ago. It seems to be in pretty good shape, but there are a couple problems. First and foremost: one of the platters moves clockwise!! I changed the cards around and the same platter will go the wrong direction. But when I change the motors, the platter with the "bad" motor is the one to move clockwise. Anyone know a fix?
The second question is about the rpm's. I ran a reel of trailers through the machine today and the platters are running a little slow. Not slow enough to wrap once around, but about 1/2 way. It makes me nervous because the brains aren't flush with the platter like my old Xetron platter brains were and the film looks like it hits the edge of the brain and could cause a scratch.
I have the manual and the only mention of the direction of the platter I could find was where it said to check and make sure each went counter clockwise. As far as the speed, we tried changing the little dials on the cards themselves, but it didn't help.
And no, I don't want to run changeovers.
