How long do Chrisite SLC Consoles last, opposed/compared to other makes and models by different companies?

What do you rate Christie platters? Who makes your favourite platters?

I have an old Christie platter and it works fine -- or at least well enough i can't justify buying a new one. I have never gotten a reply from the service people at Christie. Apathy seems to be a common thing with them -- at least when contacting them via the internet. That would weight heavily if i were thinking of buying a new piece of equipment.
