What about 40 Year Old Virgin?

I just heard Ebert and Roeper's review and they actually gave it high praise They even called it "sweet".

Another rated-R movie about getting lucky isn't probably gonna play well in this area but ya never know...

We were set to open 40 Y/O Virgin but this past Friday, they told us they were pulling back on the prints and they were taking our print, even though we had already advertised that we were going to open it.

Jeez, I feel for you guys. That must be a tough one to handle. Do you always have a back-up in mind when you book a film?

Funny - Universal did that to us with Skeleton Key last Monday ... but they let us keep 40-Year-Old Virgin this week.

Hollywood wonders why our boxoffice figures are down? They should have a honest look at the crap they are selling!

look thru the movie listings any given week in their local paper and ask, "Would I pay $9 plus $10 or more in food to go see ANY of thease films?"

The answer would most likely be no.

While several films this summer did decent, none are close to being "Blockbusters" And isn't summer saposedly when we should have had at least a few?

The Island was actually a decent film, but ask yourself why after such a large budget between TWO film companies why did they spend next to nothing on advertising for it?

hardly anyone even knew what the film was!

Except I had run the trailer several weeks prior...

The Bears, while the basic story was true to the old bears movies, we had people walking out on every showing due to the language mostly...

senior's mainly, and parents with kids that THOUGHT however foolishly that hollywood had made this a kids film.

Someone at the studios better wake up!

I have faith in my kids and took them to see Bad News bears. The never talk like that and know it is only a movie. They here worse in the street and on prime time TV.
The problem with bears was not the language but it was the same movie from 30 years ago recasted!
There is nothing original out there and that is what is really scary, you have some odd reason that the next 3-4 weeks every PG-13 horror movie is coming out that looks the same as the other one and confuses everyone.
