Opened Halloween night 1915 with Birth of a Nation. Anyone out there running a house older than mine? Still privately owned and independently operated after 92 years. Check us out at www.iokaentertainment.com

Happy Anniversary! and many more!!!!

We opened in 1921 and have been running entertainment ever since. According to the newspaper the theatre opened with four acts of vaudeville and a silent movie, “The Old Nest”.

I think I actually have a lobby card of The Old Nest from when the IOKA played it. We too featured vaudeville acts, including Fatty Arbuckle, and many more. The IOKA still makes about 50% of its revenue from live entertainment, although it took alot of renovation to get back into it.

Congrats! We have been in continuous operation since 1916. Opened as the Walden Theater and now, 91 years later, are known as Images Cinema-- a non-profit community film house.

Our space is nowhere near as beautiful as yours!

Myself and some partners are looking at opening a small single screen theater in a suburb of Atlanta where we live. Can you help with some advice of how to open and operate a profitable theater?

Our Theatre opened in March of 1914 and has been in continuos operation since then. My Great-Grandfather purchased the theatre in 1923 and my family has been running it ever since.

What is the name of your place?Do you have a website where I could see some pictures. Not too many around that old. Are you non-profit or still privately owned?
