TOPIC: Forgotten Scene

Forgotten Scene 14 Jul 2003 08:52 #20139

I was reading an article in Variety a few days ago about FXs and Trailers. They were saying how some FXs you see in the trailers never make it to the actual movie because the of deadlines.
This got me wondering about a forgetten scene in the "Return of the Jedi." I've seen that movie in both its theatrical release and then with added footage. The very first time I saw it I remember a scene that occurs just after Han Solo slices open the Tonton to keep Luke warm. He has set up camp and Luke is delirious and Han has this heart to heart talk about their friendship. Does anyone remember this scene? I know I saw it.

You are remembering the scenes on the ice planet Hoth in "The Empire Strikes Back", NOT "Return of the Jedi":

Maybe in the "Special Edition" re-release?:
http://movie-reviews.colossus.net/movies/s/sw2.html

"...a few new scenes have been inserted (including some extended shots of the Wampa ice creature's attack)..."
http://www.geocities.com/dashchapman/ESBSE.html

"...Although there were no major new scenes added, the Wampa scene and Bespin were the most noticeable revisions, upgrading the scenes to a more hi-tech look. Compare the original verion of Empire to the re-released version. The design of Bespin changed significantly, and the Wampa is now more visible..."
http://www.sacnews.net/moviecorner/empire.html

"...The only "new" scene added is toward the beginning of the film with added footage of the fierce Wampa creature that attacks Luke..."
