I was really disappointed in "Master of Disguise." It seems that every place you find Sandler's name these days there follows a bust. I'm not saying that the he is the total fault in the picture. Carvey also seems to lack the potential to raise the weak plot to a higher level. In watching the trailers I thought this could have been a great little movie. Sadly, I was wrong.

I watched MASTER OF DISGUISE and thought that it represented the basement of cinema. I had a hard time thinking of another movie which was that stupid. Adam Sandler's movies are all in that genre, but he redeemed himself a bit with WEDDING SINGER. I get the feeling that Dana Carvey just wanted to make the most stupid movie and waste a film studio's money to see if he could do it. I heard that he made this one for his children and that is why there is no questionable humor. However, I also think that it is devoid of any funny line, save the possibility of the ones in the preview. I have never sat in a short ninety-minute flick like this one and prayed for it to end soon. The outtakes contained in the end credits were better than the film itself. THIS is why people say there are no good movies anymore -- between this one, XXX, and SERVING SARA, we have reached new lows!

What do you mean? I loved Master of Disguise. I ran this at the Skyline drive-in and I was laughing so hard customers out in the field were looking back at the portholes to see what the ruckus was! And the nice thing was it was only 4 reels long. All movies should be 4 reels (or less).

I didn't see it and refused to play it as a small protest for what I though was Dana Carvey's rude, obnoxious behavior as the Master of Ceremonies at ShoWest this year. I heard he was here vacationing a week or two ago. (Maybe he was trying to redeem himself with me, but was too embarassed to stop in.)

It was a pretty p=poor routine he did. One bad joke that he rolled out over and over.

Sure it was dumb, but the kids loved it and I even chuckled a few times. It actually did more business than I expected it to here, and my kids (and me I'll admit) are still quoting lines from it...

Still as bad as it was, I don't think anything can top "Littlt Nickie." That was no talent and just wasted film.

Disguise sucked but Nickie rocked. The scenes where he kept being put back in NYC and getting hit by a train and a bus were worth my price of admission. But then I did not pay.

Yet another sign of the impending apocolypse: Master of Disguise has been our biggest seven o'clock movie for 2 weeks now. (8 screens of subrun)

Of course, it's competing against a ton of stuff that's already broken onto video, is even worse, or we've already played to death, but there you have it.
