The theatre business is a primarily evening job. Have any of you been able or even tried to be a part of evening recreational sports leagues or other pursuits? Or is there just no time for it?

Are you crazy? I have no life that is not bounded by these movie theater walls and my day job. Sometimes I am home so little that I don't even have time for a good nights sleep.

Why do you think they call me Large?

My recreation occurs mid-morning. I go dirt bike riding with some of my staff. We leave from my driveway and can ride forever--around or over mountains, through creeks, on logging roads and unmarked trails.

I don't work every evening. I try to do stuff in the day more as I love the sun more than a gym court. My days of basketball-floor hockey-volleyball are done. The problem is that because we in the film biz tend to be most busy when most people are not busy so it's a traditional time to play sports as well as go to movies. Which is where you find me!

My other vice, besides movies, is motorcycling (street). I can spend the better part of a day eating up road and be back in time to slip outta my leathers, into an Avalon Cinema t-shirt, then start selling tickets. If I had a day job, I'd get in almost no riding -- so running a theater works for my vices.

In the early hours on the A.M. you will find me dilivering the Daily Newspaper to my small comunity. I have about 80 customers, mostly the elderly who don't get out much. I enjoy being about when its quiet and peaceful. That's what I do to relax.

I am able to stay off call enough to bowl in the winter and play slow-pitch softball in the summer. I do both rather competitively and travel a good bit in doing so, keeping my life as hectic as possible.
