Many say that the over building of cineplexes started with AMC. It seems that now they have become the bull in the china shop once again. The have pulled out of NATO because they are not happy with the go-slow approach on digital projection technology. They have underwrote costs for prototype theaters to encourage the faster rollouts of the technology.
Of course they can well afford to do this. But in my humble opinion I think its a mistake. They would probably drive up ticket prices in these theaters and I think that most people think prices are high enough already.
