I was very dissapointed that Gladiator won in Special Effects, Best Film and Best Actor.
Ky was hoping for Traffic, I was hoping for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

I was mildly dissapointed in Best Actress in a supporting Role didn't go to Kate Hudson. but that is more of a little head response than a large head response.

I felt torn. Traffic was the most important film. Tiger the most surreal and beautiful. Gladiator was epic and easily accessible. I think they traded off their votes... one from col b (best pic) one from col a (best director) two from col d (best screenplay and supporting actor)......... there wasn't one big film that really grabbed me entirely.

Kate Hudson was terrific. Almost famous had to be the most missed film of the year.

I was happy with "Gladiator". But I agree with the both of you on the Kate Hudson issue. And although she did a very good job in "Erin Brockovich" I still think Julia Roberts is highly over rated. But then, I don't like smily faces either.
