What are everyones opinions on this film. L. Ron Hubbard, John Travolta that combo makes me think of the church of scientology, however i love travolta in every movie he has ever done, and Battlefield Earth looks like a big summer action flick...has anyone seen it??? Is anyone showing it?? are you going too??? what do you think...i am interested in hearing.

I have not seen the film yet but i have read the book, which is a very long and drawn out story. If the movie drags on as the book did I don't see much hope for it. On the other hand, condencing down could proove to be a blessing. The characters were good an the plot was okay, good guys-bad guys, lets save the world kind of stuff. We'll just have to see the movie and decide for ourselves.

I read the reviews and they said that this was the worst film of the century.
Then I saw the film and I agree with the critics.

It's just bad.

Travolta has a summer home in the next town and his connection with the Scientology is well known. I just looked at this as a payback to Ron Hubbard... a what have you done for me lately kind of deal. I have not sen the pic but sci-fi pics have a real big residual play life in the big wide world. So Scientology will be assured an income no doubt.

When trailers are presented most of the time they show the highlights of the movie such as the action sequences. Having said that: "Battlefield" trailers are not that all impressive. Need we say more.
