I also just viewed "42 UP" and was really taken by the universality of their experiences. Although they're all from a culture I'm not a part of, I thought their struggles with identity, well-being, and just plain day-to-day existance could have been told by any other random group of 42 year olds. Of course, it was facinating to see them all from the age of seven and to see how (much/little) they had changed. It was truly a celebration of the individual in the face of the universal.
