Another idea to save costs is to look at your marketing costs and how effective they are.

For example, how much are you paying for newspaper advertising, and how many customers are you getting for that money?

Then, do the same for your phone recordings and online marketing as well.

If you are doing any other marketing, such as promotions with the local pizza delivery place or restaurants, examine the costs vs. returns on them as well.

I've heard about many theaters dropping newspaper advertising because of the high cost and the availability of online resources and phone recordings. If you determine that you aren't getting much value from newspaper, but don't want to drop it altogether, renegotiate your ad rates and see if the newspaper will come down on their rates. I'll bet they will.

We have four (4!!!!!) weekly newspapers in our small city of 6500! We cut them down to a minimum long ago and two of them now provide the ads free because they don't want to lose us.

I stopped newspaper ads altogether two years, cant say it hurt me one bit. Print is dead. We rely solely on our recording machine (with a very easy to remember number which was the first phone number installed in town 92 years ago), our marque, our website and newsletter service.

We have a limited number of papers in the area and nearly all are owned by the same company so the pricing is not very appealing, it may work for others but we opted out.
