Yeah, big mistake on this film to not know what version. I'm not joking when I say you could have sold out the show at $200-$500 a ticket if it was a quality DCP of the 77 release. Star Wars fans are nutty.

And wow, sounds like Slap has a pretty rabid anti-Plaza mob forming based on those comments.

Yes .. Started by a guy that did not even have tickets and people from out of state.
No one wants people unhappy so that's why we offered refunds ASAP !

The booking came to us : Origional Star Wars Iv1977..

If you check on Rotten Tomatoes /Imdp we promoted it the correct way .But I do understand the controversy so we added Special Edition .. There is no theatrical version special addition it only applys to DVD version .

I wouldn't say you promoted it the correct way. You played the 1997 Special Edition cut, but first advertised it as the original 1977 cut.

In the world of Star Wars fandom, you are talking about two completely different movies. People would have flown in from all over the country to see such a rare screening.

Glad you had a big night though!

The issue Andrew is that's not what the Studio calls it .. There is no such thing as 1997 version it's only a theatrical release date . The IV version is considered by the studio 1977.
Check Rotten Tomatoes and Imdp .

Who cares what the studio calls it. There is no more famous post release recut movie that Star Wars, and it's unacceptable for a theater that specializes in rep releases to not know which version they are playing.

No different than advertising Citizen Kane (1941) and playing Turner's colorized version.

Or claiming to have a DCP and playing a bluray/DVD, ahem, allegedly.

Lol.. I am not going to argue with you . I will try your way next time and ignore the studios legal title ,let's see how that goes over . Ha.....

Every customer was told many times the clarification and 26 refunds . ( re sold in 5 min)

We are so happy to play the first DCP copy of the rarest of screenings ..

This is my last post on this topic ... It was an amazing night and customers loved it ,here is to the next 75 years !!

There is nothing to argue. You either didn't know the difference (unacceptable) or you intentionally misled (unacceptable).

You know why there isn't a "difference"? George Lucas. He says the only version that exists for theatrical distribution is the 1997 cut. So Star Wars (1977) is the special edition.

It's pretty obvious from dealing with you here that all those negative comments are true. You are impressively clueless about this issue and doing things like playing BD/DVD when having advertised a DCP is pretty lousy as well.

But good luck, I hope your deceitful business practices don't harm your ability to stay open.

That's great that Mens Journal had nice things to say about your theater. That totally makes up for you not knowing the difference between the original cut of Star Wars and the 97 Special Edition. Or that you lie about having DCPs of movies and instead play them from blu-ray/DVD. Or that you randomly cancel screenings. Or that you say a screening will be in the wheel chair accessible auditorium, but actually have them upstairs, etc.

Imagine how much better you could be if you were able to behave like an adult, showing the least bit of respect and courtesy to your customers!
