Anyone else play this?

Worst opening I've ever had for a 1st run!

Even Treasure Planet did better!

Dear god, even tonight only 4 people!

And we had to book this for 2 weeks?

this DEFINATLY should have stayed as a Direct to video!

We are playing it. It is doing about what I expected. Not terrific but well enough to justify its spot. What is different about it is that it plays primarily to the very young children. Unfortunately for us, parents think that they will be bored so they deputize only one parent to go with the little one, while the other parent sees another movie with the rest of the family or stays home. We start charging admission at age 3 so we only get paid for the parent's ticket in many cases.

Beckwith brings up a good point. When do you start charging admission for people? Our policy is and has been to charge if they take a seat. Since we have one-price tickets this seems to work well and is pretty clear-cut. I figure once in a while somebody cheats on this but very rarely.

We charge if over 3, yeah, cuts in on this type of movie, but in the case of this one, adults outnumbered children by 2/3rds! ???

big showing tonight had 27 people and 20+ were adults.

I understand Regal charged for EVERY one on this film, but I doubt it helped much.

On the subject of this movie, Disney did a really poor job marketing, few tv spots, no tie in, and aparently they fired the staff in the art dept, cause the one sheets seem to be what would pass for a internal Joke among the art dept, and looks like it accedentally got printed!

I think my 3 year old daughter could have done better!

For a single screen in a small town stuck with this for 2 weeks this REALLY hurts...

Life goes on...

I think the only way I would consider this film for my single screen is for a split. I think it is basically the only game in town for the G rated audience for weeks upon weeks and while I don't have enough of those to sustain a weeks worth, I might be able to handle a split (with a PG-13 or R-rated counterpart). But, with how it has performed I'm not even sure of that.

We tried to get Heffalump for opening but we were turned down. I think we would have done okay with it but oh well. We probably won't show it now because there will be plenty of decent movies coming out in the next month.

BV wouldn't book this in my "urban 14". Oh well ... I don't miss it ...

BTW ... we charge starting at age 2 ...

I like Cinemark's policy ... 1 & up - ....

I start my admission charge at 12 months. I would like to ban under age 3 (except for kiddie shows) but I know that wouldn't go over well with the public here. I also charge one price for all, but then again it's only $2.00 for matinees and $3.00 at night.
