I am home on a Friday night. My movie, which was being circuited, did not arrive prior to showtime. In fact, it is not here yet. Both the distributor and ETS assured me this morning the movie would be here by 3:30 today. This is the first time in seven years this has occurred here. I don't recall reading about this happening to anyone else on the forum, but I am sure it has. Is there any recourse I can take or do I just lose out?

I really believe ETS can not handle all the extra volume since Miramax and Sony switched to them--two weeks ago I was suppose to get a cicuited print, when they went to the off theatre to pick up it turned out it was circuited the week before to some where else. They did fly a print in and I was able to save the Friday show. This week "Coach Carter" came in 2 canisters instead of 3 as stated on each canister--I ended up without reels 4 & 5. Here too they did finally get another print to me, but the wasted time and stress is killing me. I much prefer the $18.50 I pay Technicolor who tracks every move of the print rather than the $77 I pay ETS for what I consider very poor service recently.

The sales rep at Sony I talked to yesterday afternoon said I wasn't the only one that hadn't received their print on time. He made some derogatory comments about ETS' service. So why did they go back to ETS? I will ask my rep that very question on Monday.

I have to agree wimovieman. ETS seems to be a few steps behind technically. For my piece of mind I want to get a little info about where my print is and when it's going to get here. I hope they can adjust to their extra volume and make things better.

Burney, did they get you a print for Saturday or have you been dark all week end?

Just out of curiousity, are TES and ETS only in the US, or do they handle prints going to Canada as well?

If not, who handles prints in Canada? I think we have a film depot called the Victoria Film Service in Winnipeg, that delivers or picks up prints, although I can't be certain. Do you have to give them a key to get in and out of the building, because I've seen theatres that leave them just inside the doors when they leave, and new cans by the booth doors when I've gotten there on a Friday.

You pay $77 per ETS print? That's ridiculous ... our trucking service runs $45 flat rate per week regardless of number of drop-offs or pick-ups.

I got my print Saturday afternoon. The movie is doing quite well. A Friday night show would have been good.

I believe Victoria Film Service is now a part of Technicolor, who acquired them in 2003:

AFAIK, ETS is part of Deluxe:
