Christie AW5R rebuilt 4500
Potts/Balco rebuilt 3900

Potts A5 with microswitch w make up table 7418.25 new/ without table 6675.00

Christie all the way.
The AW5R will make it much easier to move prints since the center feed is removeable.
However if that wont be a problem the AW5 will be just fine. Each deck has it's own built in centerfeed.
Just like the AW3 it can be converted to removeable centerfeeds at around $100 U.S. per deck I believe.

As long as it's clean the Christie platters never scratch a print when threaded properly. Be sure and run soundtrack up and check out the tutorials on Film-Tech.com to get your Christie platters in good shape.

Mike,
I'm not the expert here amongst all these brands. We've run some but not all. However, I have to say from experience that it is most helpful to keep the same brand of platter that you are already running in the same theater both for training issues and for spare parts issues. We love our Christies best and they do have the best reputation in the industry but you would be better off with matching your current platters. I'm sure you know that the difference between your AW5 and AW5R is the removable brains. Removable brains are good but we are sticking with our old AW3s rather than mixing in some of our newer AW3Rs that we recently acquired as we prefer to remain consistent and we don't have 4 AW3Rs.
