This will be our 10th year of the free family holiday matinee series. 4-5 weekends, Sat and Sunday, 2 shows, helped and sponsored by area business ($$$) enough to pack in 32 sold out shows with lots of trailers! And do they buy concessions???? You bet!

Mike,

What kind of flicks did you book for it? I'm doing 'Elf' for something similar next month.

We just booked it. We aim for first run films that have not gone to video yet. This year has been very tough because of earlier and earlie Spring releases. BV will not allow anything to play for "free" so all of their stuff is out but the others are very good with max flat rates of 200.00 per print. Spidey 2, Thunderbirds, 2 Brothers, Shark Tale does it.

We do a massive cross marketing job on these. Everyopne sees everyu kid movie that is up and coming. It is a really great thing for us,the community, the sponsors!

If you'd like a copy of what we do e me and I'll mail the flyer.

Cheers/ Mike

Dreamworks won't let me have Shark Tale second run yet and they will give it to you flat for a free show?

I have it booked for the week of Thanksgiving but it wasn't flat by any means.

We do the exact same thing. Starting with the Friday after Thanksgiving and every Sat. and Sun thereafter up to the weekend befor Christmas.

We've booked in this order, Shrek 2, Spiderman 2, Garfield, and ending with Elf to set the Christmas mood.

It'll actually be nice to play something as old as Elf that hasn't been watched to death on video yet. I would imagine that many of the recently released Elf video's will be presents under the tree (hopefully).
