Greetings/ I'm deep into electioneering so not much of a report will be forthcoming: It was perfect weather. Hurricane damage galore once you got away from Mickeyville. We took a couple days and went to the woods and sea. Highlight was as we were walking along the shore and a big Gopher Tortise comes walking in the opposite direct eating and sunbathing.

Movies:

Skipped Flying Daggers for The Assasination of Richard Nixon. A good heartwrencher as a man (Sea Penn) goes slowly mad until nothing makes sense except that he must kill Nixon. With the gut twisting angst and the attempt at plane hijacking it was too much. But well done.

Polar Express: whoo-whoo. All aboard for what will be a huge hit.

Bridget Jones 2_ more of the same though she seems stupider and fatter this time around. It's funny and entertaining and everyone has a great time.

Are We There yet? No.

National Treasure: completely unbelieveable but highly entertaining! Sure to wow 'em at the plex.

Beyond The Sea: very good/ well done/ bio. Sandra Dee's actor is a comer.

The Woodsman: I was too tired to see a heavy film early in the am. I hear it was very good. Powerful.

Coach Carter. Sam L. Jackson as a coach who makes kids perform off the court as well as on. It stayed with me. Who says they're not making good films with meaning? I thought of all the good black films lately: Finding Forrester, Coach Carter, Radio, the Navy diver..., Are We There Yet?, Blade 3........ just kidding. anyway: they're making good piocs.

After The Sunset: jewel heist with it being a Salma bathing suit a thon and a thong. If you like looking at Salma Hayak you will love this film. It was entertaining, cross and double cross, etc.

Trade show was predictable: if you need something it's there. It was good to see everyone. The more you go to these things you get to know more and more people and it is a small world. After all.

We actually had a little get together at midnight in the bar with about a dozen folks showing up. Mike Spaeth, Rick Cohen, Ian Price (not so large) Donna Daly from Maine, Lance from NY, the RTS tribe, and some more folks. It is nice to hang out with people from coast to coast.

I'm still tired!

See you all soon/ Mike

Sorry I missed the get-together.

Any annoucements regarding distributors developing a viable and fair business plan for Digital Cinema? Who is the spokesperson, now that the DCI is primarily only dealing with the technical side?

John;;;;;;;;;;;;;; we missed YOU! I did not attend the digital event. I'm figuring that when it gets close I'll hear about it. Not very huge in the leadership role but..... perhaps someone who was there will post.

Technically; we are seeing great presentations. There's no question that it works. Who pays and how it gets to us is all that is left. Red light/ cyan readers are not a great sign post on the way to digital.
