Forget Envy. I hear it was so bad that they were going direct to video until Jack Black rocked the school last year.

Sad to say but this is going to be a tough year no matter what month it is. (It is an election year). I mean look at what Disney has for June - a Jackie Chan ripoff.

If you get really desperate you could always bring back "King of Kings".

We are doing all of the following that week: Home on the Range, Hellboy, The Prince & Me. Expecting a big week. Jersey Girl has good buzz and is opening on a platform starting 3/26 and continuing for two more weeks. Perhaps a good idea for 4/2?

You are probably thinking of the Ben Affleck/ J Lo situation wherein everyone wants to know if Gigli poisoned everything that Ben and Jen are in. Spoiler here: J Lo will be gone within the first 15 minutes of the film so that it is really about a father/daughter relationship. Not really a Ben and J Lo picture.

It says in the Release chart that Ladykillers is wide. Is that not true???

I think LADYKILLERS is about 1500 prints-not real wide

Is the release chart the best source of info on the net? I've done some looking and I can't find anything. If there are gaps or mistakes found should we be informing Mike or someone to get it changed?

Leeler: one of the problems that Mike has with the release chart is that things are always changing in this business. Even releases that are initially indicated as "wide" way before the studio actually gets down into the details and finds out how the picture is doing with test audiences and how much money is being made available to make prints, etc. Often the # of prints is being changed during the booking phase. Say on Monday you try to book it and they so no. But if you had called on Tuesday they might find you a print because some executive upped the print count overnight and now the overworked sales department has to find good homes. Mike can't possibly stay on top of that. I've noticed occasionally that there is even some confusion about when the movie is going to be released which causes Mikes' chart to list the same movie in two places. Laws of Attraction is currently one such animal. It is just hard to stay up to date and we are always scrambling. The release chart here is no worse than anything else I have seen given the eternal chaos. I am now using it to keep up with my booker. One thing that is frustrating is identifying platform releases where the print count is scheduled to increase over several weeks.

I understand. This is probably one of the things that having a booker will make easier. I was just hoping for an easy fix and, of course, there isn't one.

Rentrak also has pretty good release charts and they e-mail you the changes weekly.

We do update the chart constantly but accidents do happen. I personally have index cards in a row running down for each Friday: so for April 2 I have 5-6 cards in a row, then April 9, etc. etc. I keep about 3-4 months ahead on the wall and then I can look at the whole thing in a glance from my desk: in the middle of it all is a whiteboard with my two theatres and their screens so I can sked visually. I do not rely on anything too much as much changes! I miss dates too.

www.rentrak.com

Maybe isn't a complete list? I didn't see WB or Miramax in their lineup and there might be others. It looks pretty good, though, from their website anyway.
