Yup.It isn't doing too well here. Its a pity, as its a wonderful piece of work. Unlike, the crappy "Cheaper By The Dozen". But, Peter Pan has many unknown stars in it. CBTD is loaded with "kid " friendly actors, even tho the plot sucks and the acting is horrible.

The lack of any "known actors" probably has something to do with it, but the main problem seems to be
What age group was this marked twards?

It is way too violent for young children, Adults may enjoy the special effects, but could care less about the movie, (actually found quite a few sleeping thru the 1st 45 mins of the film!) and many of the Teens have been walking out due to lack of interest in the film...

so, what was their target audence???

I think much of the problem does have to do with unknown actors. But the timeing was bad also. There are some big condenders out right now and I think that if this film would have hung back till after the holidays it probably would have done better. There have been many variations on the Peter Pan story in the past years. Now was just not the time to bring out another one.

I recently saw the film and loved it. I would have never chosen to go see it, but went with someone who'd heard good things about it. I agree it is a little bit dark for the youngsters and unfortunately the youngsters are who it has been marketed to. I think it will really depend on word of mouth to make it work, but fear that in this very crowded time, it won't get that chance. Too bad, as it''s a wonderful film. If we weren't jammed with product, I'd definitely pick it up. I just checked Rentrak and it was the #5 (out of 10) films at my competitor's 14 plex.

unfortunatly in this version you can't help rooting for Hook!

the way he is treated no wonder he want's revenge...

not sure why it didn't get a PG13 with all the killing, blood shown, even 2 a$$ shots...

few more days and we are done with it so...
