The house lights made me think.... when to start cleaning. We clean from the back discreetly if someone is watching the credits but do not disturb them at all. Credits mean a lot to filmophiles.

We don't enter the auditorium until the credits have ended. But I have no compunction against interupting a blue tag.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is a "Blue Tag"?

Personally, I think the cleaning should not start until the credits are finished, that is the most polite way to tell any person left in the theater to "take a hike". The funny thing about people is that they like things clean, but do not wish to know or see how this is accomplished. I relate this to when you go to a store or the mall and the staff is putting away displays and cleaning the carpet 20 or so minutes before closing. It's a turn off. Besides, your staff can do a better job of cleaning after all the patrons have left since they can make as much noise as is neccessary.

Just my opinion!

We start cleaning after everyone is out of the auditorium or the credits are over. We have one usher with a rolling trash can stand against the wall between the stadium seating and sloped seating, but we don't pickup and sweep until everyone is out of the auditorium.

When its slow we don't disturb people. When the lobby is full and time is limited we get after it but we always try not to bother people.

Do what you feel is right.

Ditto Big Guy's answer. If there aren't any patrons in the balcony, but some down on the slope we sometimes go upstairs and pick up bags, cups, and candy wrappers, but do nothing to make any noise until the lower section patrons are gone.
