The 11-screen Cinema Center in Pittsfield, Massachusetts closed in 2001 I believe. The space is currently for lease, though I do not know if they want to lease it as a cinema or carve it up into retail spaces. The phone number on the for lease sign for the landlord is 212-869-1490.

There's a twin for sale in Clarion PA. right now on ebay. No 2903492812. The bidding is at $15,000 and the reserve has been met. There is a new mutiplex outside of the town. However with the college there it still might work for art. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2903492812.

There is a recently closed 10 screen theatre available for lease in Pennsauken, New Jersey. I believe the theatre closed last September, with a 2nd run policy. The theatre is about five years old, and appears to be in good condition from the outside. The address is:
Pennsauken Cinema 10
5247 Hwy. 70
Pennsauken, New Jersey

The leasing information is:
Willner Realty

There is a currently closed 997 seat single screen theatre for sale in Monticello, New York. The theatre's name is the Broadway and it is located at 242 Broadway. This theatre has the lobby entrance in the center of the building with a store unit on each side. The distance from New York City is about 100 miles and is located in the Catskills. The contact number on the front of the building is 516-735-1700. I have no connection with this theatre. I was in the area today saw the for sale sign and thought it was worth a post...Hans

Rosco Theatre, Located on Broad Street, near Railroad Street, Rosco New York. Catskill Mountain location. Single screen 146 seats. I don't know if the building is for sale or not,as the windows and doors are boarded up. The theatre has been closed for a number of years and is in need of exterior repairs. The building is old, probably pre 1920. There is a small fly house. The apartments and store units are empty. Rosco is a nice small village with some tourist trade located on a main highway.

Outside Atlanta there's a neighborhood twin in independent Cobb County, with a Marietta, GA, address. It's the Blackwell Theatre in the Blackwell Square shopping center on Canton Road. If memory serves me, one house has about 240 seats and the other has about 300. All equipment is in place.

Well after two incredible years, starting as a newbie and rebuilding our town's only movie theater, we have decided to move on and find a full-time operator to buy the theater. We love the theater but have outside business concerns that keep us from participating fully in the running of the theater (in our opinion, absentee ownership is not the way a small town theater should be run). Here's the details:

Location is Manchester Vermont, an affluent and very liveable town in Southwestern Vermont with a very strong four season tourist base and an excellent year round local clientele. We are the only theater for nearly 60 radial miles and are first run with a strong mix of independents. (We are also the lead venue for the acclaimed Manchester Film Festival at www.manchesterfilmfest.com). Having no competition, we can mix the bookings pretty much to our needs. Due to restrictive zoning (it's Vermont!), no other place in the area is zoned for theaters and several out-of-town big boys have tried in the past and failed to build more screens. We have a virtual monopoly.

We are a twin with 300 seats and the facility has virtually brand-new everything. A top-to-bottom renovation had us gutting the building to the exterior studs and rebuilding EVERYTHING-walls, floors, ceilings, bathrooms, concessions, booth, lobby, HVAC, fire systems-the absolute works.

We gross over $400,000 per year with room for increases. This is a leasehold situation with 18 years left on term. We are selling the business with over $250K in FFE and leasehold improvements at $399,000. ROI is 20-25%.

Call me direct for more details. Serious inquiries only please. Must be of sufficient net worth to assume lease and no owner financing is available although local lenders would likely participate with the right buyer.
