We sold out our 9:00pm show in our main 300 seat auditorium. I honestly didn't expect to have that happen until next year. Been extremely pleased with our attendance trajectory!

that is great. I still really hate Transformers though I am opening it everywhere. Totally built for Asia.

yes/ in all my theatres as well. But still I hate it.... just a whirling ball of noisy tin foil with mark W. dangling in front to lure the US box office in. Oh well.... I want to see Snow Piercers. M

Another note of interest to me as a new theater owner, this was the best we have done as a percentage of the national per screen number. We typically are in the 15-20% range, and we were close to 32% of the per screen average. Definitely the right kind of movie for my audience.

And I'll be catching Snowpiercer this weekend!

I wonder if this had to do with the over saturation of screens that this movie had? I saw it with my 10 year old son Sunday. The 8-plex we went too had it playing on 3 screens (town population of 13,000). We went to a 3:15 pm show and were only in a crowd of 16-18 people.

Has the 20% occurred before on movies that would be playing on 3+ screens in large venues?

I don't think anything has gone quite as wide as Transformers this year, but the ~20% was definitely what we saw with the other big 90+ million openers this year (Spidey, Godzilla, X-men, and Cap 2).
