The big word of the show was "international" box office, distribution, suppliers, you name it. The show hasn't just transitioned in name from Show West to Cinemacon but in purpose. In the past it was a national show for USA/ Canada and many internationals attended. Now it has become a worldwide convention with less accent on USA and North America. Making films is increasingly going to be films that can travel and not lose their meaning as they get dubbed. What this means for us in the USA and for independents: not sure. It probably opens the door for smaller companies to make good films for a national audience. So... one word.... "international."
